I don't know exactly how you organize your photos, but if you have them in lots of folders, it can be a pain to browse to each individual folder to import the face data. This will try to import embedded Picasa face data from all currently-selected images. Otherwise I am not sure what you are referring to as re-embedding.įrom your description, I think you were probably in Manage mode, using the command Tools > Face Detection > Import Lightroom or Picasa Face Data. By re-embeded you mean to rerun the facial recognition on Picasa, then yes I have done that. However there are many that I have edited including modifying EXIF, Orientation and dimensions. Most of the over 16,000 images have not been altered.

I will post an update to the method I used next time I am at the system where I have ACDSee installed. Now when I select the Picasa import selection if does not do anything it's as if I didn't even make a selection. It seemed to churn for a while the first time I ran it and I actually found an entry in my ACDSee catalog under people for my mother, and I am certain that I did not create it. Sorry, but I am not at the computer where I have ACDSee installed so I don't recall the actual drop down selection name. To import I simply clicked on the import Picasa data selection in the menu. It seems that I have to manually correct a large percentage of what it suggests. In fact I am not overly impressed with the ACDSee facial recognition capabilities in comparison. I did and do use Picasa for facial recognition and find that it does a superior job. So Lightroom would have minimal information (If any for importing). I found ACDSee much more intuitive and did not want to spend much effort into a product that I did not see myself using as a base. If you are looking for other Picasa tips and how-to’s visit our Picasa section. In addition to ACDSee Ultimate 2021 and Picasa I also have Adobe Lightroom, but have not used it much. An example of this would be Downloaded Albums. Note: If some of these collections are not displayed it probably means that you have not used the feature that would activate that collection. Picasa already includes a ser of default Collections used to organize the type of content it indexes. You can use collections to separate work and fun or you can use collections to organize all of your family trips, holidays, birthdays, etc. Collections allow you to group folders containing pictures in Picasa. Working with over 10,000 images and trying to keep family and work apart in Picasa can be quite tedious.
